DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
NE Unified District #1 is made up of Clearwater, Orchard & Verdigre. There is a PK-4 building at both Clearwater & Orchard and a combined 5-12, with the 5-8 grades at Orchard & the 9-12 grades at Clearwater. Verdigre has a K-12 building. The Unified District's 447 K-12 students are taught by 58 excellent teachers. Our district is also very fortunate to have a quality support system composed of 48 staff members. Educational Service Unit #8 provides quality support services in; Nursing, Speech Therapy, Special Education, Psychologist, Staff Development, Technology Assistance, Migrant Education, and other pertinent services. Our Boards of Education provides an excellent vision for our school district. Our Unified Board consists of six members, of which two members represent each of our three communities. Each Education Center has a Site-based Administrator who works closely with an Advisory Board that consists of four members who handle local issues at their monthly meetings.
