DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Wauneta-Palisade School District is a small system with a total K-12 enrollment of approximately 240 students. In the 2016-17 school year, students in kindergarten through fourth grades and preschool attended classes at the Palisade Attendance Center. Students in grades 5-12 attended school at the Wauneta Attendance Center. We have mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts curriculum committees whose tasks it is to align our local curriculum to the state standards. Our norm-referenced test is the Terra-Nova test. Students in grades three through eight and eleven also participate in the statewide NeSA testing program. In addition, student writing skills are assessed annually with our locally-developed writing assessment.
