DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


The mission statement of the Sutton Public Schools is "Sutton Public Schools and You -- Teaming Up to Educate our Youth for Future Success." Sutton Public Schools is a Class III school that is accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education. The school is a member of the Southern Nebraska Conference, and the district is governed by a six-member Board of Education. Sutton Schools has strong community support and the high school offers many upper level subjects including American Literature, College English, College Algebra, College Calculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, Advanced Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Sutton Jr./Sr. High School has also developed a Career pathway program for its' students. Sutton Elementary School places a strong emphasis in the area of reading and writing and utilizes research based teaching methods including Direct Instruction, 6 Traits Writing, and Write Tools.
