DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


Schuyler Community Schools (SCS) is a Class III district. It is made up of 2 rural attendance centers where approximately 100 total students go to school, one K-5 elementary within the city limits, one middle school with grades 6 through 8, and a grades 9-12 high school that is also in the city of Schuyler. All told SCS has approximately 2,000 students - pk-12. SCS has most of it’s valuation in Colfax County, but it also possess some property in Butler and Saunders county. SCS is a growing district. The trend in student population indicates the student growth will continue as we graduate about 100 students each year and the entering kindergarten class usually has between 120 and 160 students. The ethnic make up of the student body pk-12 is 70% Latino, 27% Caucasian, and less than 3% all other races.
