DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Public School is a Class III PK-12th grade school district located in rural Dawson, Custer and Buffalo counties, from a 260 square mile boundary. All of the school’s education programs are provided in Sumner, Nebraska. The district qualifies as a school-wide Title I school. The average number of students in the K-12 classes is 14.8 students per class. Staffing for the S-E-M school includes 25 certificated teachers and 2 administrators. S-E-M employs 20 classified/support staff. S-E-M offers a wide variety of classes including college classes through Central Community College via distance learning. S-E-M high school competes at the D-2 level for NSAA. Extra-curricular activities a strongly supported by the community. S-E-M has recently completed a construction project that added several new classrooms, new restrooms, new central office area, and a new practice gym.
