DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Ponca Public Schools is committed to building a solid educational foundation for all individuals by providing a quality learning environment and promoting standards of excellence. The Ponca School District includes Nebraska Frameworks accredited PK-8 and AdvancED accredited 9-12 public schools located in northeast Nebraska. The Ponca Public School District is organized with grades 3-12 in the Ponca building and Preschool-2 in the Jackson building. The Junior-Senior High School was newly constructed in 2010-2011 with the bond issue being passed in September 2009 for 9.52 million. The elementary classrooms in Ponca were built in 1994. Jackson Elementary was constructed in 2003. The 2016-2017 enrollment for the District is 459 resident and option students. The Ponca Public School District employs 44 teachers, including Title I, Special Education, technology coordinators, and Guidance Counselors.
