DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
All Schools are fully accredited by the Nebraska Dept of Education. In addition, the school system holds district accreditation through AdvancEd, an independent regional accrediting agency. In 2007, FPS was the first district in Nebraska to receive this designation. Approximately 155 students attend or are served through the Early Childhood Development Center and 75 students are enrolled in neighborhood preschools. 1,800 students attend K-4 at the seven neighborhood elementary schools. Approximately 675 students attend the middle school in grades 7 and 8, 675 students attend Johnson Crossing Academic Center in grades 5 & 6, while 1,300 attend grades 9-12 at the High School. The total district enrollment is approximately 4740. The 15-16 Fremont Public Schools general fund budget is $50.26 million with an average cost per pupil of $10573. The budget is comprised of local sources 47% (43% property taxes), Dodge County 1%, State of NE, 44% and the federal government 8%.
