DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Dundy County-Stratton School District is situated in far southwest Nebraska encompassing Dundy County and the western third of Hitchcock County. The district is the result of multiple consolidations over many years with the most recent addition occurring in June, 2007. Covering 1050 square miles and straddling two time zones, the district supports three elementary schools and one NCA-accredited junior/senior high school. The district serves approximately 325 students. While issues such as distance, population, dual time zones, and isolation challenge our district, they do not impede our mission to educate. In tandem with the support of our constituents, the district continues to provide a curriculum designed to meet the needs of each of our students while offering opportunities for enrichment through the varied student activities.
