DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Southern Valley School system just completed its 20th year of consolidation. The district consists of six communities; Beaver City, Edison, Hendley, Orleans, Oxford, and Stamford. Our ethnic characteristics are a majority of Caucasian, with a small minority population. The communities are supported by agriculture and mainly small businesses. Our school offers a diverse curriculum with advanced courses in Math, Science, English, Industrial Technology, Art, and Business. At the elementary level the curriculum is alligned for continuity and consistency district wide for our students which is key since we have three elementary sites in three different communities. Our school endeavors to meet the needs of all students through a variety of programs. Our Title I program serves elementary students in all buildings and four full time resource teachers are provided for our resource students.
