DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Giltner Public Schools is a K-12 district in Hamilton County. The geographic size is 78 square miles. For the 20017-18 school year we had 186 students enrolled on the last Friday of September, 1.5 administrators, 1 SPED Administrator, 19 teachers, 6 para educator and 9 classified personnel. The population of the town is just under 400 with many of the district's residents being farmers and living in the country. We have had a relatively high percentage of option students from surrounding districts in the past several years. Many of our graduates continue to live in the area and we are now teaching their children, whose grandparents are an active part of our school and community. This aspect of our school system creates a continuity that means a great deal to those involved.
