DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


Aurora Public Schools and community take great pride in the educational opportunities provided by its local schools. The Aurora Public School District is comprised of an Early Childhood Program for students who have been verified for special education services, ASCEND Program for students in alternative education settings, Aurora Elementary School (K-5), Aurora Middle School (6-8) and Aurora High School (9-12). All sites are accredited by the State Board of Education through the Nebraska Department of Education. Aurora Public Schools offers a comprehensive program for students in grades preschool through twelfth grade. These programs cover a wide range of educational opportunities from general educational programs to vocational, special education, and college level courses. The schools have a combined enrollment of approximately 1250 students in grades PK-12. Eight administrators oversee the educational process led by approximately 100 teachers.
