DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Atkinson Nebraska, a community of approximately 1250 residents, is comprised of industries designed to support agriculture and livestock operations. Atkinson prides itself in being innovative, entrepreneurial, and sustainable through supporting local business. The West Holt Public School District serves approximately 430 students PK-12 and employs nearly 72 staff members. The district covers 904 square miles, with a main campus in Atkinson and one K-8 rural attendance center located north of town. In 2009 construction was completed that attached the 7-12 high school and elementary school to create one K-12 campus. The preschool addition was added in 2011. At West Holt Public Schools our vision is Educating the Whole Person through Relationship-Based Education. Our students strive to become well-rounded citizens and are provided with many experiences and technology to prepare them for the future.
