DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


Sterling Public School is a small rural school in southeast Nebraska, located 35 miles southeast of Lincoln. The primary economic base in Sterling is agricultural although many people in Sterling commute to jobs in the nearby cities of Beatrice and Lincoln. Sterling is classified by the Nebraska Schools Activities Association as a D-2 school with a PK-12 enrollment of 196 for the 2016-2017 school year. Our school system currently employs 23.125 teachers and 6 paraprofessionals. Our small size enables students to receive enhanced individual instruction. A high percentage of the teaching staff have multiple extracurricular duties as well as serving on a wide variety of committees. The vision is that all Sterling Public Schools' students will achieve their full potential.
