Ogallala Public Schools is a K-12 Class III district as ranked by the Nebraska Department of Education and is fully accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education and North Central Association. The School District encompasses 485 square miles in the West central Nebraska, includes Ogallala and Keystone. PreK-12 Enrollment at Ogallala Public School district is currently 842. The current poverty rate is 42% compared to 44% statewide; and a mobility rate of 13% compared to the state average of 11%. The district recently was recognized for having 100% of the teaching staff 100% NCLB qualified. The Ogallala Public Schools community is committed to quality, innovative educational opportunities. The district recently purchased iPads for each student in grades 9-12. A new PK-8 facility opened in the spring of 2015, with interactive smart boards installed in each classroom.
