DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


A city of over 23,400, Norfolk is the economic growth center for an area encompassing six counties. Norfolk Public Schools (Madison County District #2) is a comprehensive school system offering education to students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade as well as those identified with special needs. Our district has seven elementary schools (including a K-4 Montessori School), Middle School (grade 5-6), Junior High (grades 7-8), High School (grades 9-12), preschool and Early Childhood Center (special education), serving over 4,000 students. The mission of the Norfolk Public Schools is to prepare all students to pursue their goals for the future. The curriculum covers a full range of academic and elective courses, and the district offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Norfolk Public Schools meet and exceed accreditation requirements of the Nebraska State Department of Education.
