DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Central City Public Schools is a K-12 school district that has been in operation for over 100 years. As well as being accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education, the district is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The senior high school has been accredited by North Central since 1917, the elementary and middle schools have been accredited since 1983. The mission of the Central City Public Schools is to educate, challenge, and prepare students with lifelong skills for the world around them. To accomplish this mission, Central City Public Schools uses its diverse curriculum offerings and highly qualified staff at all three educational sites. The district has an alternative school for those students who are unsuccessful in the regular school setting and provide credit recovery opportunities.
