DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


Bridgeport is located in the central part of the Panhandle of Nebraska five miles north of the historic Oregon Trail Landmark, Courthouse and Jail Rock. Bridgeport is a rural community with a population of 1,600 and was founded around Camp Clark Bridge, which was an important junction for three major trails: the Oregon Trail, the Mormon Trail, and the Sidney-Deadwood Trail. Bridgeport Public Schools is a North Central Association Accredited school with a curriculum and graduation standards that exceed the minimum requirements. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all students, and to prepare them to function productively and responsibly in a continuously changing society. The district has an enrollment of approximately 500 students, which are served by a staff that includes 50 staff members, 3 administrators, and 40 support staff members.
