Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca School District #27 is a Class III school district in Syracuse, NE.The school district covers 186 square miles in Otoe, Cass, and Johnson counties. The 2016-17 assessed valuation was $839.2 million, with a general fund levy of .8608. Student enrollment in the district was 742 students. The district also operates a PreK program which serves 33 four year olds. Approximately 50% of SDA graduates attend four year colleges and 35% attend two year technical and community colleges. The remaining 15% join the job market immediately or enter into the military. The school district employs 107 people, which includes 64 certified teachers and four administrators. A six member school board elected at large governs School District #27.
