DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


Perkins County School was a newly formed district for the 2005-06 school year. Perkins County is approximately 890 square miles with the school serving 413 students during the 2016-2017 school year. Starting with the 2015-16 school year, all Perkins County Schools attendance centers were placed in Grant. After an addition to the high school was completed that included four classrooms, a commons area, kitchen, and gymnasium in 2015, the high school became the district's Junior-Senior High school. This attendance center now consists of grades 7-12 while the elementary consists of PreK - 6th grade. Perkins County Schools is a one-to-one laptop school system, that offers a great teaching staff, positive students, excellent community support, and strong financial resources. The economic structure of the area is agriculture based with other large number of employers being the Perkins County Health Services, Midwest Electric, well drilling/irrigation services, and the school district.
