DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


Lakeview Community Schools is a Class III district. The District consists of two public K-6 schools, two parochial K-8 schools and a 7-12 junior-senior high school. The Board of Education is comprised of six members elected at large. Lakeview Community Schools enjoys strong community support and continues to provide a quality education for approximately 822 students. The students are a combination of children residing in suburban Columbus, rural Columbus and Platte Center, as well as industrial tract residents. Sixty-five certified staff members are employed in addition to 5 administrators. Non-certified staff members account for an additional 66 employees. The District offers a broad range of academic and extra-curricular opportunities for its students. In addition, college level courses are available through the Columbus Campus of Central Community College. Migrant Education, English as a Second Language, and Reading First instruction is available.
