DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT


The Osceola Public Schools is located in the township of Osceola, Nebraska, (population 867 as of 2012)in Polk County. The district is a Class III district comprised of Jeffrey Elementary School, grades K-5, Osceola Middle School, grades 6-8, and Osceola Senior High School, grades 9-12. Osceola High School is classified by the Nebraska State Activities Association as a Class D2 in most activities with a few being classified in D1. The Osceola Public Schools is accredited by the State of Nebraska with Osceola High School a member in good standing of the AdVancedEd/North Central Association. The Osceola Public Schools offer a comprehensive program for students in Pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. These programs cover a wide range of curricula from the "basics" to vocational, special education, and computer education. The district is governed by an elected six-member board of education which meets on a monthly basis and as needed as circumstances dictate.
