DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Wahoo Public Schools, located in Saunders County, covers 191 square miles and has an enrollment of 1025 PK-12. The Class 3, K-12 district holds unit accreditation status with North Central Association (NCA, CASI) as defined by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission. The mission of the Wahoo Public Schools, with the support of our community, is: "Inspiring Our Students To Thrive". The communities that are served by our district include Wahoo, Colon, Ithaca, Malmo, Swedeburg and Weston. There are two attendance centers within Wahoo Public Schools; a K-5 Elementary School with a Head Start/Special Education preschool program, and a 6-8 Middle and 9-12 High School with separated instructional areas. An Alternative Education Center is also housed within the High School. Wahoo Public Schools offers a diverse curriculum. Distance Learning, Dual Credit, OdysseyWare and SENCAP (Career Academy) courses are offered to enhance the educational experience of all students.
