DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Gering Public Schools is located in western Nebraska. Our district consists of a Preschool, four Elementary Schools, a Junior High School, Freshman Academy and a High School. The primary goal of our school district is to increase student achievement for "All students" and provide a high quality education for "All students." Our district plans to accomplish this goal by: 1)implementing curriculum and programs that are designed well and support the standards, 2)investing in high quality and ongoing professional development for our staff, 3)measuring student performance with valid and reliable assessments and utilizing this data to make needed changes.
