DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
The York Public School District is comprised of York High(9-12), York Middle(6-8),Enrichment Center (6-12), York Elementary(K-5), and Pre-School Learning Academy (PLAY). YHS is classified by the NSAA as a Class B school. YPS is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. YES, YMS, and YHS are also accredited by NCA-CASI. The York Public Schools offer a comprehensive program for students from birth through twelfth grade. These programs include general education, vocational, special education, alternative education and college level courses. There is a strong emphasis on technology. Three YPS programs that provide excellent opportunities for our students include: Family Foundations: Sixpence program for at-risk infants and toddlers. Students Engaged in Learning for their Future (SELF):ESU 6 program for students with emotional difficulties. Project SEARCH: ESU 6 internship program at York General Healthcare Services.
