DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Susan L. Picotte Elementary School is located at 14506 Ohio Street. The school first opened in the Fall of 1992 in a rented building at 1312 Robertson Drive. Students and staff moved to our current facility on March 25, 1993. During the Fall of 2002, an addition of eight classrooms was constructed to the East side of the building. The addition opened in the Fall of 2003. Picotte houses approximately 400 students in grades Pre-K through Fourth. Picotte is committed to academic excellence for all students. A daily focus on school improvement goals is supported by interactive instruction in each classroom. Students receive support from the Gifted and Talented, ELL and Special Education departments. Picotte has an active PTA and wonderful community business partners. By working as a learning community, the Picotte students are provided an educational experience, which is both supportive and challenging.
