DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Aurora Elementary School is a K-5 building. Each grade level is made up of 4-5 classrooms centered around a pod, which allows for team planning and collaboration amoungst teachers and support staff. Students are placed into programs according to their academic and behavioral needs. Depending on students' needs, there is either inclusion or pullout services available through special education. Aurora Elementary also has Title I services availble to students in grades K-3. Aurora Elementary uses the Response to Intervention Model where Teachers are leaders on RtI leadership and grade level committees. The school professional development focus is centered around blended learning strategies to meet th needs of all learners. The school uses a systematic approach to proactive school-wide behavior using the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports model. A school-wide anti bullying program is in place in the elementary as well with staff members serving on leadership committees.
