Pawnee City Public Schools is a PK-12 public school system located in the county seat of Pawnee County. The school district has a total resident population of approximately 1,650. The local economy is primarily based in agriculture, with one main industry, many local businesses, and a community hospital. The school has a faculty of 29 teachers, 10 para-educators and 2 administrators serving a PK-12 student body of approximately 280 students. Students at Pawnee City Public Schools have the opportunity to obtain college credit in Calculus, English, and Accounting. Continuing education for all staff is encouraged. To ensure educational goals for the district are met, faculty members are involved in the following committees: English, Math, Science & Social Studies Standards, Continuous School Improvement, Wellness, School Safety & Crisis Response, Technology, Data, Asthma Response, Mariano Curriculum Implementation, Educator Effectiveness, Blended Ed, PBiS, PLC, and Assessment Prep.
