DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Cozad Community Schools received District AdvancEd Accreditation The district has a PreK program, an after school program,(AfterZone) an alternative education site, and a strong core and exploratory curriculum aligned to the Nebraska State Standards. The district offers a summer school program, available to students for additional academic assistance and credit recovery. The district has implemented one-to-one Initiative for grades K-12 providing 24/7 learning opportunities and increasing student engagement. Elementary uses ipads and 6-12 uses chrome books for the 2017-2018 school year. Our preK-12 enrollment is currently 964 students. Our enrollment figures are: Pre-Kindergarten–75, Kindergarten–65; 1st-5th – 383; middle school–226 and high school–280. The current poverty rate is 55% compared to 42% statewide; graduation rate is 97% compared to the state average of 90%.
