DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Gothenburg Jr.-Sr. High School and Dudley Elementary School are within a single building and have been since the completion of a building project in 2004. Additional rooms were added to Dudley Elementary, and a new structure was built that houses the Junior/Senior High School. Gothenburg Public Schools has a six-person administrative team. The Superintendent and Director of Teaching and Learning serve all students and staff of the district. Each school has a Principal and an Assistant Principal. The Activities Director serves as the Assistant Principal in the High School and the Special Education Director serves as the Assistant Principal at Dudley Elementary. Both Dudley Elementary and Gothenburg Jr/Sr High serve approximately 450 students per building. Approximately 30% of the student population qualifies for free/reduced lunch and approximately 12% receive Special Education services.
