DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
The Hastings Public Schools Middle School serves 810 students in grades six, seven and eight. The Middle School utilizes the philosophy of middle level education to the greatest extent possible. Each student has a team of teachers working with them to assure the subject area rigor of a high school program and the relational connectivity of an elementary school program. During 2013 - 14, Hastings Middle School continued to adapt to the changes that come with a grade 6-8 configuration. During the 2013-2014 School Year, Hastings Middle School was named a MetLife/NASSP National Breakthrough School. During the second semester of the 2013-2014 School Year, Hastings Middle School was also recognized as a National Model PLC School by All Things PLC. In both 2015 and 2016, Hastings Middle School was also recognized as a National Showcase School.
