DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Hawthorne Elementary serves approximately 320 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth. Hawthorne continues to be on the cutting edge of educational research to meet the needs of students in reading and mathematics, and was recognized in 2015 - 16 as one of only six schools in Nebraska who are National Model Professional Learning Community Schools for improving student learning. Hawthorne continues to focus on increasing reading comprehension for all students using the PLC model for focusing on learning. In addition Hawthorne is striving to make our school a safer and even more collaborative culture.
