DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Watson Elementary serves approximately 320 students in grades K-5 as a school-wide Title I school. A full range of services and programs are provided to assure success and support the needs of a diverse student population. In 2020, Watson Elementary received the Nebraska Healthy Schools Award in recognition of providing opportunities for health and well-being initiatives within our school for students, families, and staff. Watson focuses on improving student performance by recognizing and assisting students as early as possible and providing each student with targeted instruction that supports learning for all. Teachers and students use data from formative and summative assessments over the course of the year to target and facilitate growth for all learners. As a PLC School, Watson teachers collaborate to determine priority grade-level standards in math and reading, and through targeted instruction facilitate student growth toward grade-level proficiency state standards.
