DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


The Neligh-Oakdale Schools serve the youth of Neligh, Oakdale and rural areas that make up Distict 02-0009, Antelope County. The school district encompasses 132 square miles. Classes average 28 students per grade. In the 2015-2016 school year 365 students were enrolled in grades K-12th grade. A preschool program with both 3 and 4 year olds is operated with approximately 40 students. The projected census reflects a slight decrease in student population over the next few years. The elementary grades are housed in two buildings. Grades PK-2 attend at the West Ward facility located on the west side of Neligh. Grades 3-6 classrooms are located on the first floor of the junior-senior high building. The high school and junior high facilities consist of a four-building complex. The high school offers a comprehensive curriculum with approximately 600 instructional units. Students have the option to take classes via distance learning or on-line classes for college credit.
