The Sandhills Public School system is a district that includes the towns of Purdum, Brewster, Dunning, and Halsey. The High School is located in Dunning, while the Elementary School is located in Halsey. The district is 904 square miles and operates 3 bus routes. Rural economic development issues continue to be a challenge, yet the communities of the district remain strong and committed to offering an excellent education to the districts approximate 100 students K-12. The district employs 17 certificated staff members and 10 support staff members. The certificated staff is an experienced staff.
