Boone Central High School, located in Albion, is accredited by AdvancEd. The program of studies in BCHS includes both vocational and college preparatory courses and the availability of a variety of extracurricular activities for students. ACT scores of Boone Central students have exceeded state and national averages. Approximately 90% of the Boone Central graduates enroll in post secondary education. College credit courses are available at the HS level and also through the Central Community College Learning Center. Advanced Biology, Creative Writing, Psychology, English and Accounting II are college courses available during regular school hours. During the 2007-2008 school year a new alternative education program began called Pathways. This program is a consortium of area schools plus Boone Central. The variety & depth of Boone Central class offerings gives evidence that a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum is at the heart of the school system.
