DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Horizon Middle School offers a strong and caring educational setting for its 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. We support the district mission of Creating an Environment that fosters mutual respect, Inspire the love of learning, and we Expect Excellence’ from all. The regular core curriculum of mathematics, science, social science, and English is offered at each grade level. There are support programs for our special needs students and our English Language Learners. We also focus on the needs of learners by offering a variety of Exploratory classes where students are able to discover and use their talents as they apply 21st Century thinking skills. Coinciding with the academic focus we work with the social and emotional needs of this age group as we emphasize respect, responsibility and safety as key social components for success. Horizon Middle School has outstanding teachers who understand middle level students, and make middle grades a positive learning experience.
