DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Meadowlark opened in 1995 and has 3 sections of each grade level. The current student population is 400 students. Meadowlark Elementary has several active partnerships. The College of Education-UNK teaches a math methods class at Windy Hills during the year. UNK students work in partnership with classroom teachers to provide 2nd and 3rd grade students additional math instruction. We also encourage our teachers to utilize the co-teaching concept in having teacher candidates work in our classrooms for their student teaching experience. One of our goals of our school community is to provide enhancements to district curricula. An active parent volunteer program, along with adding the WATCH D.O.G. program provides valuable student support and adult role models (male and female). Students have the opportunity to learn and practice Character Education Skills through in-class instruction, service within the school, and service to the community.
