The Tekamah-Herman Community Schools is a Class III district attended by 517 students in grades K-12. In addition 37 preschool students attend a district operated program at the Herman Elementary School. Herman Elementary is located in Washington County, 7 miles south of Tekamah. The Herman Elementary School is staffed with 3 certified teachers, who offer programs from pre-kindergarten to the sixth grade. A multi-grade classroom system is used.
