DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Oakland-Craig Public Schools Junior High has 73 students in grades 7 & 8. These students are tested in 7th & 8th grade with the MAPS tests twice per year and are assessed with NSCAS assessments for ELA (grades 7 & 8), Math (grades 7 & 8), and Science(grade 8). All students are required to complete and pass 5 out of 8 semesters of core (Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts) course work to earn promotion to the next grade. All students take career exploratory classes, art, agriculture exploratory, computer literacy, skilled and tech science exploratory, health, reading workshop and writing workshop courses as 9 week units in both the 7th and 8th grade. Character education is implemented in the course work as well.
