DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


David City Elementary is located in the community of David City. It is accredited by the State of Nebraska. Grades K-6 are served in an elementary building and the prekindergarten students are educated in a separate facility south of the high school. There are two sections of students per grade each led by a certified teacher. Certified staff includes a speech path, school psych, three sped teachers, a music teacher, a PE teacher, an art teacher, two Title I teachers, an EL (English Language) teacher, an elementary counselor, a curriculum/media specialist, and a full-time elementary principal. The school uses the Marzano framework for instructional practices. The elementary building opened an addition in the fall of 2011 that included a new office area, sped and art classrooms, and a gymnasium. The elementary building opened another addition in the fall of 2018 that included four offices for sped staff, four sped classrooms, a conference room, and an expansion of the cafeteria.
