DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Bellwood Elementary School, 12 miles northwest of David City, has eight self-contained PK-6 classrooms, with specialists for music, art, physical education, special education, library, speech pathology, and elementary guidance. The school provides a school-wide Title I program that is approved by the Nebraska State Department of Education. The preschool program operates a morning session for 3-, 4-, and 5- year olds that are not of school age. The preschool program is staffed with a full-time certified teacher with an early childhood endorsement and a full-time para-educator. The kindergarten program is a five-day, full-day program. The school runs a Summer Library program in June for its students and a Summer School Jumpstart program for students in grades Kindergarten through sixth grade. Bellwood Elementary is a school-wide PBIS school, promoting positive behaviors in all areas of the school. The school uses the Marzano framework for instructional practices.
