DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

The educational program at Plattsmouth High School (PHS) is comprehensive and is designed to meet the diverse needs of all students. More than 130 courses provide choices for over 500 students. The school uses a wall-to-wall career academy approach. It is organized into three broad career-education academies that offer honors, advanced placement, and dual credit courses. Through these academies, students are prepared academically and otherwise for college and career experiences. The high school building was completed in 1996. It provides a 600-seat auditorium, a 1 to 1 learning initiative with lap tops, two gymnasiums, an industrial technology lab, a greenhouse, and a state-of-the art activities complex. In 2010 PHS was the first in Nebraska to be a High School of Business and a Healthy Schools silver award winner. In addition to the regular high school program a school-within-a school offers courses to students needing alternative instructional programs to ensure success.
