Hartington-Newcastle High School is a Class III rural district serving 143 students in grades 7-12. This number is slightly less than half of the district students eligible; the remainder attend private schools serving other districts as well. Hartington-Newcastle is a state accredited school and participates in the Nebraska School Activities Association at a C2 level. Hartington-Newcastle Public Schools is proud of its excellent facility featuring Smart boards in every classroom, a remodeled gym, lunch room and newly renovated classrooms. Students and teachers are proud of the state and national recognition they have received in recent years for being a school of character and a school of wellness. Hartington-Newcastle Public Schools looks to the future with enthusiasm, excitement, and anticipation. The school system has established high goals and expectations and utilizes the latest educational techniques.
