DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
The mission of Leigh Community Schools is to foster a positive educational culture where: STUDENTS thrive, TEACHERS guide, ADMINISTRATORS lead, PARENTS support and the COMMUNITY is the foundation for all. WE ARE LEIGH! The Leigh Community School District (#39) comprises 80.7 square miles. The district covers parts of Colfax, Platte, and Stanton counties. The district consists of 2 schools, the Elementary building (K-6) and the Junior-Senior High building (7-12). The Elementary building, the newer facility, opened doors for students in the fall of 1999. The Junior-Senior High School Building dates to 1917 with an addition added on in 1954. Other new additions include two satellite buildings east of the main facility.
