DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Schuyler Central High School is part of a Class III school district, receiving students from 3 attendance centers. One attendance center is in the community of Schuyler and two are in rural Colfax County. About 90% of our students come from in town and the other 10% from rural Schuyler. SCHS showed steady growth from1990-91 to 2000-01 then experienced a significant decrease of Caucasian students. This caused a 1-year drop in enrollment that was made up by the 2002-03 school year, primarily through an increased Latino enrollment, a trend that continues to the present. During the 2016-17 school year, our demographic mix was approximately 18% Caucasian, 80% Latino, and 2% of Native Americans, Asian-Americans and African-Americans. Schuyler Central High School has reached 81% Free or Reduced Lunch status and therefore is a School-wide Title I school.
