DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Schuyler Elementary School is an elementary building that currently has approximately 800 students in grades K-5. It is located in the town of Schuyler. At least 80% of the student population is of Hispanic descent. The other 20% is predominately Caucasian with some African and other ethnic groups represented as well. The staff provides an outstanding learning environment. Not only are traditional elementary classes offered, but there is special emphasis placed on English Language Learners, Title I students and Special Education participants. The goal for School Improvement focuses on interventions to improved reading. This building opened for the first time at the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year as a K-3 school. Recent construction has expanded this building to house students in grades K-5. Schuyler Elementary School is a Title 1 School-wide school.
