DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


The South Sioux City High School, home of the Cardinals, serves approximately 1200 students in grades 9-12 using a traditional 4x4 block schedule. In order to prepare students with the skills and knowledge to successfully compete in a complex, global society, the school strives to actively engage all students through a relevant and comprehensive standards-based curriculum that integrates 21st century skills, tools, contexts, and assessments. A variety of supports are provided for students who need additional time or instruction in order to succeed at high levels. In addition to academics, students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities including athletics, music, and drama opportunities. Staff members are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive learning environment with opportunities for each student to develop their skills and potential. The South Sioux City High School strives to engage parents, partners, and the community to maximize every student’s success.
