DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
E.N. Swett School houses the district preschool program and four sections of Kindergarten. Teachers and specialists provide students with a quality education in a positive and caring environment. The Kindergarten curriculum includes the traditional core content areas: language arts, math, science and social studies. Students also receive instruction in art, music, P.E., guidance, library and technology. The Preschool curriculum reinforces the Nebraska Early Learning Guidelines, which are based on research and evidence about child development and practices that result in the best outcomes for young children. Areas of focus include development in the following domains: social and emotional, health and physical, language and literacy, mathematics, science, and creative arts and are monitored through the GOLD assessment. Parent involvement is encouraged through opportunities to participate in classroom activities throughout the year and in our at home reading program.
