DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Dakota City Elementary is dedicated to maintaining a safe, productive, and positive learning environment encouraging all students to be lifelong learners, while promoting a partnership with families, staff, and the community. Our K-5 population of about 225 students has the opportunity to engage in rigorous academic experiences aligned to the Nebraska State Standards. We utilize the Professional Learning Community (PLC) model in all of our work, and our staff collaborates weekly to focus on student learning, student growth, and planning supports for all students to be successful. Our teams intervene using the MTSS model, and work collaboratively to ensure all students are getting what they need. In addition to school day offerings, Dakota City also has a Beyond the Bell program for after school services throughout the school year. Our PTA meets regularly to plan a variety of activities for students, staff, and families.
