DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
At Covington Elementary our students are "Soaring Higher." Through the Project Aware Grant and our building wide PBIS model, we are supporting students both socially and academically. Covington is the academic home to approximately 380 first through fifth grade students. We celebrate our diversity and the unique strengths our students bring through focusing on individual student growth. Through the use of Professional Learning Communities model (PLCs) our staff collaborates weekly to focus on student learning, student growth, planning supports for those students needing more time to meet our learning goals, and planning for those students who have already learned the unit objectives. Building teams intervene using the MTSS model and work collaboratively to provide and monitor student interventions. In addition to valuing education, parents of the Covington students are active in our school PTO providing opportunities for staff, students, and Covington families.
